Blood & Honor v1.7 in review

Hi everyone,

The update got a bit delayed but I am happy to announce it is finished! All we have to do is wait some days until Apple approves it.

This is the list of features/improvements that were done for version 1.7:

- Uses a completely new server
- Added cancel button for cancellable cards
- Added 2 min timer in online game mode
- Online game list items now show the map, game mode and player count
- Increased the timeout limit to 1 minute to reduce the disconnections to the server
- Added a more games button
- Major under the hood refactoring

Things that I would like to do in the near future:

- Android version
- Achievements
- iPhone 5 support
- AI improvements

I will let you know when the update is available on the AppStore.

Status update for Blood & Honor and Crazy Generals

Hello everyone,

I just added a turn time limit to Crazy Generals and uploaded a new version (1.0.2) to Apple.

Also and most importantly for all of Blood & Honor fans:

I have been doing great progress in a the new server. It is about 50% complete and hopefully it will be finished before Christmas. The new server will be much more resilient to dropped connections and will keep the connection alive even if you multitask.

Technical stuff: I removed RakNet completely and built a server with WebSockets and the Play 2.0 framework. I am very happy with the progress as it is very clean, stable and scalable!

Crazy Generals on the AppStore

First of all I would like to say THANK YOU to everyone that has helped us beta test Crazy Generals. It has been really helpful and the game is enjoyable without major bugs.

Now that we finally got the game out to the world it is time to stop, listen and think what needs to be improved or added.

After asking many of you we have a list of things that believe to be critical:

  • Improve the UI to better communicate the game mechanics and features
  • FB Connect not only to make it easier to log in but also to quickly find your family and friends
  • A new real time game mode for when you have enough time to start and finish a game and don’t want to wait hours for others to take their turns.

There are of course other things that need to be done but the three things listed will have a higher priority.

Next post I will be discussing what will be the roadmap for Sandstorm in 2013.

Crazy Generals sent for review!

Hi everyone,

We have finally finished Crazy General and it is now in Apple’s review queue. We really hope that it will be enjoyed by millions of gamers (since it is free!).

For those of you that like Blood & Honor you will LOVE Crazy Generals. It has much more strategic depth and it is turn based so you won’t lose your online games if you get disconnected since everything will be kept in our server!

This however does not mean that Blood & Honor will be left behind. It will still be updated and a new server will even be made for it (with the experience from Crazy Generals it should be much easier).
